Mostly it is the ability to discern God’s voice that the people need help—He speaks to you all the time. If you do not spend time getting to know the Lord in prayer and sacred scripture you cannot recognize his voice. You know the voice of family members because you hear them often when you know it’s them. It’s the same thing with the Lord. We can become most familiar with God’s voice by reading scripture. Why are we healed and then later it comes back? Discern if there is a block to receiving the grace of healing. Negative words of authority—especially our own— affect our healing. Jesus has cut down the major barriers with the cross and his Precious Blood but the hearts of sinners have planted many briars and have placed various stumbling blocks. Extraordinary Gifts of Grace Series
A Word of Knowledge is a personal revelation concerning an event of the past. This revelation can be used to trigger a memory that needs to surface so that healing can take place. Sometimes the word can reveal something unknown except to the person receiving prayer that when revealed then builds faith in the Lord’s love and personal care so that healing can take place. These words can guide the prayer leaders to then address particular needs of the person receiving prayer and thus overcome obstacles that can block various types of healing.
Words of Wisdom work closely with Words of Knowledge because they provide the ongoing discernment of revealing and praying the truth. These do not reveal past issues but rather are in the ‘now’ and coming events.
