BLOG

The desires of the hearts of mankind sometimes choose darkness.  The scripture points out who loves darkness and often those who love darkness affect our lives and bring us into the darkness as well.  Darkness is defined as the absence of light.  Some of my listeners may be in a dark place right now—and you are reaching out to find God’s grasp to pull you out of the mire.  Interestingly enough, that is what God has done for all of mankind.

As days of darkness seem to overtake the light of day, remember that the sun, though hidden from view, is still there and following the order of creation.  The dark clouds of the storm eventually bring life giving rain and the darkness in the sky dissipates before the face of God.  I speak these words to you that the Lord spoke to me that you might always be filled with hope.

The drifting sand of time shows the work of Satan who laid the groundwork to diminish hope in things seen so that the hope in things unseen would also lack.   Be of good Cheer.  Allow joy to return into your heart.  As you seek good—good will follow.  Disappointment will affect you from time to time but know this:  The Hope the Lord gives never disappoints.  It is, for all, the clue to everlasting joy.  Hope is fulfilled—always.  It is the promise of things unseen.  It is the mark of faith in search of Perfect Love.

Welcome to Truth of the Spirit I’m your host, Patti Brunner.  Our episode today is “Let Day Dawn Upon Us”.

Come re-enter a time of Hope.  Cross with me the ‘threshold of Hope’.  The Lord gives you abundant life.  In hope, through hope, expect the abundant life to be given to all and by your hope it shall be done.

Terrible things happen in the world but God is there, watching, waiting for hearts to turn their face, their hearts toward Him.  I remember when our country was in crisis after there were school shootings in Jonesboro, Arkansas and Columbine, Colorado.  We felt helpless and out of control.   The terrible deeds of man come from a heart that is confused and filled with hurt.  The recent riots also come from a place of hurt and confusion.  The Lord calls for healing of his people by releasing the hurt that turns inward and that becomes hatred and destruction.  The love of God is upon all his children but they turn from Him.  Stay on the course that Jesus has laid out—look not to the right or the left.

The darkness has once again spoken to us with lies and half-truths.  Only the Fullness of Truth will set the captives free.  “Resist the devil and he will flee” is truth.  Do not “entertain” the enemy but “entertain angels” as you take care of the needs of others.  Like the angels God sent to Lot, the Lord sends his messengers to stir your compassion and thus you shall know the Lord Your God.

Although Satan likes to take credit, he is not always the source of troubles and darkness.  As the world swings its fists at those who love the Lord, sometimes it attacks the children of the blessed who leave an opening due to freewill choices based on various conditions outside the realm of the kingdom.  Take not your eyes off Jesus!  Self is never the answer; surrender to the Lord is!

The evening fades to dawn after it passes through darkness.   The Church, indeed, has had moments of darkness—a turning away from truth for self-serving gain.  The people entrusted with the keys have left the door unlocked to welcome sinners but they forgot that sinners must repent to enter the kingdom of God.  Joy and compassion indeed are strengths of the church, but the Lord your God must not be offended for the sake of the ‘comfort’ of the sinner.  The Father, who gave his only begotten Son to the cross, to death, has proven his love for the people.  The gift is ‘cheapened’ when it is tossed before swine.   Jesus said, in Matthew 7:6 “Do not give what is holy to dogs, or throw your pearls before swine, lest they trample them underfoot, and turn and tear you to pieces.”  Yet before he said that right after he said, V.5 “You hypocrite, remove the wooden beam from your eye first; then you will see clearly to remove the splinter from your brother’s eye.”  And then afterwards he promised, V.7-8 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.  For everyone who asks, receives; and the one who seeks, finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will be opened.”

The continuance of the Church is reliance on the Word of God as Truth.  The Leaders, anointed and blessed, must also accept God’s Word as Truth.  Doubt and fear destroy; hope and love restore; the kingdom of God is upon the people yet they turn away in unbelief, in chaos, in non-compliance with the commands of Christ and in complacency of darkness.

One time the Lord told me this:  “The Heavenly realms sing “Alleluia!” to the King of Kings, the Lord of Lords.”  He said, “My people’s voices are flat.  They have sung songs but have not been filled with awe, joy or understanding.”  He said, “That will soon change as a new song shall be sung that comes forth from hearts on fire—with the flame of the Spirit.  “Our Hearts Were Burning Within Us” is the catch-phrase of the generation that shall arise to take their place at the right hand of God to re-establish the blessings of the kingdom on earth—Blessings that were not “lost” but that have been buried under sin, fear, and forgetfulness. ”   He said, “You shall awaken, O People, to the dawn of a new day—a day of splendor, a day of majesty.  You shall awaken in the Presence of the Lord who shall take his rightful place among men, among angels, among the princes and principalities who shall all submit to the one true king, the one true God.”

The darkness is lifted.  The dawn of a new day comes into the hearts of man as light fills the earth with joy.  Clarity comes with Light.  Look to those who share Truth.  The truth will set free those in darkness.  The light dawns on those who accept truth.

Arise from your slumber a great day is dawning.  This is the day the Lord has made!  The darkness drifts away from your life and clarity dawns as with the creation of time itself.  The dawn of each new day brings the mercies of the Father upon the world.  Just as darkness is dispelled by the forces of nature created by the Father, so, too, is the ‘unnatural’ darkness eradicated by the ‘supernatural’ light of the Son, Jesus.  Into each heart the Father sends a glow, as ray of hope, a message of pure love.

The continuous ploys of the evil ones will make life difficult at times but Peace can always be yours as you keep your focus on Jesus.  The darkness dissipates before the light of dawn.  The continuance of life in the face of darkness shows the determination of those who have retained God’s image.  The poor look toward a Savior.  The rich look for truth and joy.  The meek look for righteousness.  But the disinterested look toward filling their bellies.  Jesus calls us to enter into the narrow gate.  The door is opened by love.  Love your children, your family and friends.  Love your enemies.  Do unto others as you would hope to be done unto, these things will open the door to the lost.  The Truth sets free the slave, the prisoners.

Perhaps today he is calling you to be a Gatekeeper.   The gatekeepers watch for the presence of God and alert the others to prepare.  Also, they are called to recognize God’s presence in others.  We are all made in God’s image.  God is love.  God is within us. Love is within us.  Know that the Lord your God, loves you.  Turn your face to the Lord.  Seek his presence in your lives.  Reach out to him in prayer and supplication.  Continue to walk in His ways; if you do not know the Way, learn it; if you cannot find the Way, ask for help; if you cannot follow the Way, repent.  Grace is a communication of God’s love upon your life.

In the early days of the virus pandemic I told my Pastor that as long as he was having mass in my parish my husband and I would be there.  And when my bishop talked about closing all public services I was shocked.    I was brazen in my disappointment and ready to sacrifice good health to keep attending mass until the Lord said to me one day, “Patti, my daughter, I have heard your comments that addressed your ‘readiness’.  You would call out for me to save you if you were in the critical condition that some are experiencing.  Know this:  I Am with you now and I will always be with you.  And if anyone calls out for me I will hear them.”

He gave me the understanding of the suffering that can go along with this illness and I started taking the public warnings and my bishop’s instructions to heart.  In the next few days, the normal in my life disappeared from sight as we went from attending daily mass to watching the live broadcasts every day from our church on Facebook, and then online from around the world.

At the same time, my husband, who was battling a strange rash from a skin allergy, got several times worse.  He looked so bad that he wanted to stay out of the public eye.  We wondered if this was God’s way of protecting us from being in public and the threat of Covid-19.  We continue to trust God and took to heart the following message God had for my husband.  The Lord said, to tell my husband “that as he offers his discomfort for the benefit of poor sinners they will be released from the torments of hell which are much worse than an itchy scalp.”  God said, “Do not “waste” one opportunity to offer small works of patience with one another and with the conditions of your own bodies.  Offer up every little act of forgiveness and foregoing of judgments against others.” He said, “I desire mercy not burnt sacrifices that come at no ‘personal cost’.  The world will take notice, says the Lord, of Christians who trust in the Lord.  I Am hears all prayer.  Heartfelt prayers shall change lives.”  A few days later the Lord said to me, “My child, as the next few days come and go, you will see your heart begin to purify as you continue to offer your little sacrifices for those sinners whose hearts are cold.”

I encourage all of you to trust God, no matter what is going on in your lives.  I know our trials can give God glory as we face them with trust in Him.  It will not harm you to follow the regimen of men, of doctors.  However, it will bless you to follow the regimen of God.

When I was first diagnosed with high blood pressure, several years ago, the Lord had this advice:  Fear not health issues.  You are in God’s hand.  Certainly you may be a good steward of your body—it was designed to do the hard work of tending the kingdom.  As the fall of Adam and Eve changed the hard work to slavish work and no purpose, the body then “adapted” to death and sweat.

Now, all sweat is not from slavish work.  When King David brought the Ark of the Covenant into Jerusalem, he danced in joy during the procession.  The presence of God was once again to be among his people and King David celebrated by jumping and dancing before the Lord, with abandon, with all his might. He even removed his outer garments in humility because he was sweating, even though it embarrassed his wife.  His sweat didn’t come from toil but from dancing for joy.  You can continue his dance before the Lord—let this be your “sweat”, your work.  And let your body adapt to life.

The different quests in life culminate in just one:  To love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your mind, all your being, and to love others as yourself.  All else is vanity.  When days of darkness ensued upon the earth, man did not know truth, did not know life.  As the kingdom was restored by the grace of salvation through the death and resurrection of the Just One, know that all time entered into the stillness of peace and the eternal joy.

Reach into the depths of your heart and set free the turmoil of your concern for your children, your family, your friends, your brothers and sisters in Christ.   Let go of anxiety, and trust the Lord.  As darkness is lifted at the dawn of day, so too is the heart set free from fear and hesitation by the filling of the Presence of the Son.  Seek to be open to the prompting of the Holy Spirit.  Listen with a humble heart.

Exactly 15 years ago the Lord spoke this poetry to me that is shared for you today, this day:

“Await O sleeper for the awakening—

The Great Awakening!

Hearts shall turn unto the Lord

Lives shall be set upon the road to Salvation!

Come with Me, into the meadow of healing,

into the stream of the anointing,

into the sky of wonders and awe.

My children shall awaken as at the dawn of creation—to

Know, Love, and Serve the Creator—Once again, we shall be One.”

The Lord continues to say to us:   Awake O Sleeper!  Awake to the freshness of the Lord.  Come into the Garden—the Garden of fullness of the Presence of God.  Be one with Me, my beloved.  Abide in Me; with the Father and the love of the Spirit we shall indeed be one.

Open our eyes, Lord, let day dawn upon us!

The day is dawning—a new day and time for the Children of Promise, the people chosen by God to be his own.  And then, suddenly, the scripture tells us, suddenly it is the dawn!  And with light there can be no darkness and we are set free.
