LSC-A Jan Season of Foundation

Patti Brunner and Msgr. David LeSieur discuss the solid base of January’s liturgical readings in Living Seasons of Change.

LSC-A Jan audio link recorded by Padua Media first aired January 2008 on 96.5FM KDUA.

The writers of the scripture were listeners; they were also evangelists—willing to spread the word of the Lord, no matter the cost.  Liturgically speaking the Church’s New Year began in December, thus it ties to Hebraic New Year rather than the Christian Gregorian calendar.  The continuation of the early years of Christ—Epiphany, Baptism, and the feast of Mary remind of the foundation on which the Kingdom was built.  Truly, it seems like a gigantic task, but the Lord works all things for good.
