TOS293 Day 23 Daily Meditations for Lent with Patti Brunner-Thursday of Week 3

Day 23 Truth of the Spirit with Patti Brunner presents Daily Meditations for Lent.  Welcome to Truth of the Spirit.  I am Patti Brunner.  This is day 23 of “Daily Meditations for Lent” on Thursday week 3. We will share personal revelations given during Lent for you to discern and other contemplations to help you grow in closeness to the Lord through truth, repentance, and the word of God moving into fullness within your heart.

Video will be added as available.

This third week of Lent we hear readings from Exodus in the daily Liturgy about important words God spoke to Moses in the desert.  During the beginning of the 40 years God gave Moses the 10 Commandments and also instructions on building a tent to house the sacred tablets.   A cloud by day and a fire by night above the tabernacle gave the people visual proof of his presence among them.   The Lord instructed them how to dismantle and reassemble the tabernacle when led by the Lord.

In my home I have an image of the tent of the Ark of the Covenant in a desert scene painted by The Lord’s servant Msgr. David LeSieur.  On a Thursday of the 3rd week of Lent I heard the Lord say this about the tabernacle, “As you gaze upon it remember it foreshadows my covenant with you personally.  Trust Me to take care of your needs.  Rely on my direction to formulate the building and taking apart; single out your particular action that when brought together in the whole provides the completeness.  It does exhibit my Word; it exhibits obedience to my Word.  It provides my presence among the people.  The many, a diverseness of the people, focused their eyes on the one flame, the one sign of God among the people.  Do not lose this focus when there is much to do, and you will not fail.  As the trumpet sounded, all is set aside to complete the direction of the move of God.”

How are you doing following the move of God in your lives?  When the cloud or fire moved the people dropped everything to follow God’s lead.

Let us recall from the liturgy on Saturday of the first week of Lent the reading proclaimed from Deuteronomy Chapter 26:16-19 when Moses[i] spoke to the people, saying:  “This day the LORD, your God, commands you to observe these statutes and decrees.  Be careful, then, to observe them with all your heart and with all your soul.  Today you are making this agreement with the LORD:  he is to be your God and you are to walk in his ways and observe his statutes, commandments and decrees, and to hearken to his voice.  And today the LORD is making this agreement with you:  you are to be a people peculiarly his own, as he promised you; and provided you keep all his commandments, he will then raise you high in praise and renown and glory above all other nations he has made, and you will be a people sacred to the LORD, your God, as he promised.”

Those words are spoken to Moses, but they are for us today, too.

In today’s liturgy, this Thursday of the 3rd week of Lent, we hear the Lord’s words written 800 years later[ii] when the prophet Jeremiah shared the Lord’s word with us.  He said, “If you will listen to my voice, I will be your God and you will be my people.”

So, dear friends, hearing, listening—we are failing.  Forgive us Lord.  Thank you for pouring your Voice, of your Spirit, into our hearts. We pray that more will begin to recognize it.  Forgive us for the times we have turned a deaf ear to You.  Restore our hearing.  We choose to listen.  Help us to obey your voice, Lord.  It resounds in the commands You have given your prophets and your Church but more so, it resounds in our hearts.  Let us not forget the truth in our daily walk. We thank you for today.

I heard the Lord respond to this prayer, “The everlasting joy that is the ‘fiber’ of the Kingdom comes from the alignment with God’s perfect will.  You have choice—free will.  When you choose the will of the Father,” the Lord said, “untold wealth and happiness is yours.  Sometimes the decision is masked—faith is required to trust in the Way of the Lord.  Prepare ye the Way of the Lord.  Empty the hearts out upon the floor; help them rid themselves of pride.”

I heard the Lord say this on the Thursday of the 3rd week of Lent, “My kingdom grows in magnitude as my children say ‘yes’ to my Will, for it is in my Children that I manifest my kingdom.  Can you understand that my child?  I created my kingdom to share my glory with my creatures – with man, with the angels and other beings of Light.  Know this, only darkness can cut away that which is your inheritance.  Soon darkness will end, and Light will reign eternal.  My kingdom come!  Spend your days in joyful anticipation.  Fear not the darkness.  The Ancient of Days is upon you.  Mercy is given.  Mercy is to be had for the asking.”

The Lord said to me on a Thursday of 3rd week Lent which was the feast day of St. Joseph, the Lord said,The story of Redemption goes beyond the Cross—the Easter message is life.  Draw life into your listeners through Redemption, Transformation, Eucharist and Fulfillment.

This Lent the Lord has more to tell us about making choices of obedience.  This is Day 23. We invite you to listen each day for words from the Lord and Daily Meditations for Lent.  Remember: “The Kingdom of God is at hand: repent and believe in the Gospel.”   “Prepare for it, ready your heart.”  The transcript of this episode is available at PatriarchMinistries.com/293.  Come back tomorrow for more.  With the Holy Spirit there’s always more.  Amen.
