TOS288 Day 18 Daily Meditations for Lent with Patti Brunner- Saturday 2nd Week of Lent

Welcome to Truth of the Spirit.  I am your host, Patti Brunner.  This is day 18 of our series “Daily Meditations for Lent” and this is Saturday of the second week of Lent. We gathered words from the Lord shared during various Lenten seasons and will share these personal revelations and meditations for you to discern and contemplate each day during Lent.

The Lord says to us,My child, each day as a parent brings to light the struggle to grow and to guide.  As the butterfly yearns to be free and leave the safety of the cocoon which has protected it and aided in its formation, there are concerns of constriction and premature release.  Allow your Lord to guide you.  You are not alone.

One time the Feast of the Annunciation was on Saturday of the 2nd week of Lent.  On that day the Lord said, “My child, the Holy Spirit comes upon you as he did my mother.  You have invited the Spirit and say ‘yes’ through acceptance of gifts, in requesting my Grace and in fulfillment of your covenant rights of Baptism.  Allow my sanctifying Grace to enter your heart, body and soul and become one with Me.   Sweet Child, the darkness that pursues you cannot harm you.  You are mine, says the Lord.”

One year during the 2nd week Lent I felt a fullness of grace. When I had a distressing flashback to the days of a trauma in my life when my mother was dying of cancer, I invited the Lord into the scene, into the moment.  The Lord showed me that, just like Queen Esther, my mother was getting ready for her Bridegroom, washing away calluses and dry skin to be the most beautiful she could be for the Lord.  I took comfort in knowing this.

The next day, Saturday, the Lord said, “My Child, the forgetfulness of my children of all I have provided causes them to lose heart in difficult times.  My grace is always sufficient; my ways are always attainable through persistence to the course.  Many turn away too quickly.  Pray for my grace to sustain you whenever you are tempted to “give up” in an area you know is in my plan for you.  The interior heart will always have peace, no matter what the exterior stress involves, when you trust in Me and allow hope to be fulfilled by my grace and action.  My Child, be with Me; be in Me.  There lies your peace and joy.  There are times you refuse.  There are times you delay or ignore Me.”

I heard the Lord say, “My child, as the heavenly Chorus triumphs in the battle against the evil that has penetrated the lives of your generation on the earth, know that soon the triumph will be made evident.  Evidences of the supreme power of God Almighty shall be shown to many.  Those who “see” and believe, who accept the God of the nations of Israel, the God of Moses, the God of Peter and Paul–these shall know my Peace in the midst of tribulation—these shall know my heart.  In their own hearts peace shall reign.

“As the plan of the kingdom unfolds, the “race for wealth” will become focused on the desire of the Lord for souls.”  The Lord said, “It is the wealth of the attainment of souls that I desire.  Wealth of assets, of money, stockholdings, land, etc. are only a means to pave smooth the road.  Look at the road builders of the past.  The roads of the Roman Empire still exist long after the demise of the Roman Emperors.  The roads blazoned by the saints, martyrs and other evangelists have allowed thousands of thousands to follow the Way first marked by Jesus.  So too, dear child, remember that I have called you, in this generation, to reach out to those in need of truth.

The Lord taught me on a Saturday of the 2nd week of Lent, “My child, worry not, fear not.  I shall lead you on right paths to green pastures.  The continuing needs of the children often calls for servants to step forward to speak my word, to speak truth, to share their lives in witness and to enable the weak to grow strong.  When healings take place, many benefit:  the person, the family, the Body of Christ, and all those who hear witness, are encouraged and grow in faith and hope.  Fear not.  Fear not to allow my grace to completely envelop you without the barriers of the mind, without barriers of thoughts.  When anxiety enters the picture, stop.  Count your blessings.  Give praise to God.  Do not entertain thoughts and scenarios of doom and gloom and think you must prepare for the worst so as to ward it off.  That does not give glory to God but glorifies self—“control by self”.  Surrender to Me; I will always take care of your needs.  Do not reject my care.   The goodness of man comes from the created image of God.  Yet goodness of creation is not salvation.  Only obedience is.

This Lent the Lord has more to tell us about the help of his grace and overcoming anxieties.  This is Day 18. We invite you to subscribe or follow and come back tomorrow for our Daily Meditations for Lent – Lenten Logos with Patti Brunner.  Remember: “The event of the Cross and Resurrection abides and draws everything toward life.”[i]  “Prepare for it, ready your heart.”  The transcript of this episode is available at PatriarchMinistries.com/288.  Come back tomorrow for more.  With the Holy Spirit there’s always more.  Amen.
