Season of Holiness

Season of Holiness  Advent Year C

Program Outline:

Introduction of ministry
Introduction of topic according to the liturgy—
Explain how many calendar days in Advent
Days of preparation-similar to:
Coming of the Messiah
Coming of the Christ child/baby
2nd Coming
Explain the ‘lack of Holiness’ required a savior to restore holiness.
Ask the question:  what fills your life?  Your time?
The 1st Commandment
Talk about God’s love and the desire of a bridegroom
What if you never spent time together?  The marriage would crumble.
Holiness can be like courtship and honeymoon:
Getting to know you, getting to know all about you
Preparing for the encounter—at your best
Exclusive time
Desire to do for the other, to please
Christian holiness takes the honeymoon into daily life
Ways to restore holiness and rekindle the “romance”
Reconciliation; Prayer; seeking God; awareness; spiritual exercise
God’s Holiness—
We are imperfect, his righteousness is perfect
Example: small flashlight with bright light turn on or step into sunlight
Wrap up the relationship to the 1st/last/and daily coming of the Lord
